'Hero Geoff' began as an idea from Alfred Mawson, a dedicated young fundraiser for the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans. Written by his mum, Grace, and illustrated by his sister, Lilly, this is a children’s book inspired by the true World War II experiences of Geoff during Operation Market Garden.
The story follows Geoff as the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans takes him back to Arnhem, a place that holds so many memories from his wartime service. This time, Geoff is accompanied by young Alfred. As they visit the important places where Geoff fought, survived and made memories, he shares his incredible story with Alfred, bringing history to life through the eyes of a young boy listening to a veteran who was there...
